This week I'm attempting one of the most important builds of my entire life.

Because my living room is quite literally falling apart.

Fuck you!

Not only did this beam puncture a wall, break our couch, but our son was sitting right here just two minutes before it happened.

But since my wife and kids are visiting relatives over the next six days, I am secretly transforming this living room into my wife's dream space.

And the catch?

She has absolutely no idea.

Here it is!

Where's our fireplace?

And trust me, I can't wait to tear all this stuff down.

We have a lot of obstacles this week.

She's a little traumatized, she's like, can they pull off the beams?

What we're gonna do is we're gonna re-secure all of them.

So we can keep this one out, we're good.

We'll chop it up and get it out of here.

Cool.

Which is why we brought in the professionals like Jake so we can- or geek can work hard on transforming this space.

So we're doing things a little bit differently.

You will see these lines that they put up around the fireplace.

We originally were going to tear down the fireplace, all the stone, all the concrete, but the demolition, to have dumpsters outside, to take that away was gonna be way too expensive.

So what we're going to do is actually frame around this fireplace to make another fireplace.

Fireplace is on fireplace.

Fireplace squared, is that?

But the beam isn't the only hazard in this living room.

The bane of our existence, my wife said, was the stone at the forefront of this fireplace because the kids, the kids, dude, they'd be running, they would trip, they would fall on the fireplace.

We're getting rid of that.

Knowing my kids, less hazardous, less injuries.

And fellas, this is the equivalent of saying You cleaned your room, but you throw all the dirty laundry into the closet.

Out of sight, out of mind, am I right?

So did you say that we forgot the A-frame ladders today?

We did.

And so this is a modified A-frame with two ladders put together.

And five guys actually managing to keep it together.

It's only shaking a little bit.

Now, while the guys definitely know what they're doing, it looks like our first big tech delivery just came in.

All right, Ryan and I just got the phone call.

There is an 18-wheeler, a semi Is that one right there?

No, that is the trash car Hey, in my driveway And they are trying to make a delivery

So Ryan and I are getting back over there

And this can only mean one thing To say that I'm excited is a little bit of an understatement So, um, we're just waiting on trash people One home at a time,

boys But to answer your question, no My five Lamborghinis did not get delivered But we did get something even better Do you see that?

So we got a semi He's just carrying our brand new

Sony RGB TV makes sense 75 inch from sony their brand

new rgb technology with it going in the living room the rgb technology is going to be super vibrant

but still gives you the crisp clear picture quality

that like oled does my friends over at sony appreciate you guys

so much the only downside is uh we're on day one

of the bill we're not going to need this till like day four day five

so the biggest issue now is i'm going to need to find a place in my garage here Yeah,

you know the whole cable management thing isn't just for like gaming setups It's actually honestly how I live my life.

So How much do we trust my wife's parking?

Did she hit somebody's vehicle?

Twice.

As they were parked behind her.

I think she's good to go then.

Yeah.

Finished with day one.

It is 5.06 today and we are about 15% complete with the construction in this room.

The construction is barely step one of the plan because once we finish that, we got to go get all our furniture and accessories for this room

and then of course finish it off with all our smart

home technology honestly since we're done with day one let me

get you a quick update for all my tech boys out

there you might be wondering what is this well we added a bunch of blocking

but here on the back side of the fireplace

because our smart tv 75 inches i mean is gonna go right here above our fireplace

and i'm not sure how high i'm gonna mount it

so i made sure to add a bunch of blocking for the support here

but we added an hdmi cord here on the back

that will run all the way down to the side cabinets over here

because I'm gonna be adding in that switch tube for the super smash bros what else what other games are on?

We're gonna be adding in a lot of smart plugs smart lighting

but here in the next two days we have countertops being measured

so we got to find something ASAP

that can be delivered in the next 48 hours

because once they come to measure the countertops the cabinets better be there

so we got our work cut for us tonight to see what we're gonna do in this space.

As much as we want to finish this room in six days, we can't cut any corners.

And if you're new to the channel, I tend to DIY a lot of things that I have no business touching.

I have installed this upside down.

Even though it's for the best, let's just say not being a part of the work is giving me a little bit of FOMO.

All right, boys, we got a nice nine hours of sleep last night.

We're feeling a little refreshed.

Today we have painting.

We gotta finish the electrical, we gotta do the drywall, and then of course the most important thing, we gotta figure out what we're gonna do for a couch for this space.

But other than that, we got a long day ahead of us, so boys, let's get this party started.

So while I'm riding the bench for all our painting and construction, there is one way I can finally be useful.

So while these boys are getting painted, they're finishing electrical, I'm trying to figure out our biggest issue so far, which is the cabinets on the right and the left side of the fireplace.

This is where I think we're gonna go with this Wayfair Modway 48 inch.

It is a vanity, but the biggest thing I know when I talked to Bailey, she did not want a cabinet that looked like it was going to be in the kitchen with a pullout drawer.

It is 48 inches, which fits the space almost perfectly, and we're going to get it in in a few days.

She's going to give us about a day or two before Bailey actually gets in to get these installed, to get the countertops measured, and to be able to install it before she gets back.

Yeah, I think this is the winner, boys.

So we're actually going to add two of these and add them to the cart.

Now I don't feel as useless.

I actually did something.

I added something to the cart, boys.

And so far the guys have been making incredible progress on the room so far.

The room so far is about 50% complete with the painting.

We are going to be updating a lot of lights in this room with a more modern, more technologically advanced, technological advanced,

we're really trying to go for a smart living room, not only with the fireplace, but like I was saying, with the lights, with the sound system.
